The Problem of AM Radio in Basements and Elsewhere

When I think of my favorite AM radio stations, and their programs, the best reception is mostly when I am out driving somewhere far from power lines and the radio noises in my neighborhood. If I am lucky to be out on the road during a good talk show, I am happy. When I am in my basement apartment, with weak signals and too much humming, buzzing, and other interference, I frown.

The problem is too much local noise and not having a big antenna which can get a clean signal. As an apartment dweller, there is no way I can put up a big antenna for better AM radio reception. However, I found a solution which brings in fabulous and unlimited AM radio - real signals from around the world.

Streaming Real AM Radio Near and Far

The way to get far better and consistent AM radio reception in apartments, high rise buildings, homes with antenna restrictions, and even cars with no AM receivers, is to use a remote receiver and stream the signal to your computer or smart phone. If you have internet and a browser, you can enjoy real AM radio from so many regions near home and far abroad.

Instead of fumbling with your old radio, use the AM Radio Streamer to pick the remote receiver and station you want. It is just an HTML file which points your browser at a radio and sets it up for the station. It is that simple. Have some internet? Use the streamer!

The method works so well, I can enjoy morning programming from WABC New York, get news and talk from BBC Radio 4 Longwave during the mid day, and get an earful of politics and debate from KFI Los Angeles any time I want. Not streamed and tracked from some media site, mind you, but from a remote radio receiver. No intermediaries, no geoblocking, and no BS.
